Tormented Souls 2 Endings Guide – How to Unlock the True Ending

Tormented Souls 2 follows the same eerie design philosophy as the original — cryptic puzzles, grim atmosphere, and multiple endings that reflect your attention to detail. This time, players can unlock two endings: the default (bad) ending, and the true (good) ending, which hides behind one last secret puzzle near the end of the game. If you’re aiming for the best conclusion, here’s exactly how to get both outcomes.

🩸 Bad Ending (Default)

Summary:
Just before the final boss fight in the Temple of Nautilus, a cutscene shows Mother Lucia trying to control Nautilus using the Puppet Virus. However, Nautilus is immune and retaliates, killing Lucia and knocking Anna unconscious. After Caroline defeats Nautilus, the bunker above the temple starts to go into lockdown.

Caroline carries Anna through the collapsing corridors but doesn’t make it out in time. The two become trapped underground. With no way out, Caroline puts Anna into a cryo tube in Sister Angelica’s lab. When Anna finally wakes up, she finds Caroline’s decomposed body nearby — and breaks down as the screen fades to black.

How to unlock:

  • Complete the school and church areas normally.
  • Go straight to the bunker without backtracking.
  • Miguel will die from his injuries, meaning he can’t appear during the pre-boss cutscene.

This is the ending most players will see on their first playthrough — unless they solve one specific puzzle.

🌅 Good Ending (True Ending)

Summary:
If you manage to keep Miguel alive, the pre-boss cutscene changes. As Nautilus attacks, Miguel appears and catches Anna, saving her from falling unconscious. After Caroline defeats the boss, Miguel helps her carry Anna to safety before the bunker locks down.

In the closing scene, Caroline, Anna, and Miguel walk down the railway tracks near Villa Hess Station as the sun rises — a rare, peaceful moment in the world of Tormented Souls.

How to unlock:

  1. Before entering the bunker, return to the convent.
  2. In the refectory, use the sledgehammer on the cracked wall to access a hidden area.
  3. Collect the duct tape from inside.
  4. Go back to the school, and enter the Other Side via the mirror in the girl’s bathroom.
  5. In the director’s office, use the duct tape on the robotic figure that represents Miguel.

Doing this symbolic repair in the Other Side saves Miguel’s real-world counterpart, allowing him to appear in the final sequence — and unlocking the true ending.

💀 Final Tip

If you’ve already finished the game with the bad ending, don’t worry — Tormented Souls 2 automatically lets you reload from your last checkpoint before entering the bunker. That gives you a perfect opportunity to grab the duct tape and secure the true ending without replaying the entire game.
