INDIKA: My Review

This game is a wild ride from start to finish. INDIKA’s journey is filled with hallucinations, illusions, and conversations with the devil himself. These dialogues are some of the most thought-provoking moments in the game, as they force Indika (and me as the player) to question everything about faith and religion.

Along the way, I found a whole lot of strange and memorable characters, including Ilya, a runaway prisoner with a gruesomely rotting arm. Their interactions added a layer of dark humor and camaraderie to the otherwise serious and philosophical themes of the game.

Indika’s gameplay is a bit of a mixed bag. It’s mostly a first-person adventure, but it throws in surprises like platforming sections, driving sequences, and even a few moments where it turns into a retro 8-bit game. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible, and while there was a lot of walking between locations, the stunning visuals and the bizarre world kept me engaged.

Speaking of visuals, Indika looks absolutely gorgeous. The environments are incredibly detailed, and the character models are so lifelike that they could easily be mistaken for real people. The cutscenes are like mini-movies, and the transitions to 8-bit graphics during flashbacks add a unique artistic touch.

Indika is not a game for everyone. It’s weird, it’s dark, and it’s unapologetically philosophical. But if you’re looking for a thought-provoking experience that will challenge your assumptions about faith, religion, and the human condition, then I highly recommend giving it a try.

Indika is a game that defies easy categorization. It’s a religious game, but it’s not. It’s a comedy, but it’s also a tragedy. It’s a walking simulator, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a unique and unforgettable experience that will leave you pondering its deeper meaning long after the credits roll.
