New Arc Line mixes magic and technology in a way that feels fresh. It’s a CRPG where your choices shape the story, letting you rise from nothing in a city full of corruption. The world is big, and the characters have potential, but the game isn’t finished yet.
The game drops you into New Arc, a city that looks amazing on the outside but hides a darker reality. You arrive as a poor immigrant, and from there, it’s up to you whether you rise as a hero or become the villain. After a few days with it, I have a lot to say—both good and bad.
The story grabbed me right away. It’s serious and gritty but knows when to throw in some humor. Your choices matter here. You can talk your way out of trouble, use magic, or build crazy tech gadgets. I played as a steampunk engineer, turning my character into a walking machine. That freedom to choose how you play makes the game stand out. But while the main story is solid, the side characters need work.
The companions you meet are pretty basic right now. Mick, the big guy who loves to punch stuff, and Letta, the tough, serious one, are fun but don’t go much deeper than their surface personalities. They’re more like tools for combat than real friends you care about. Compared to other games like Baldur’s Gate 3 or Divinity: Original Sin 2, they feel flat. Still, there’s potential if the developers give them more backstory and depth in future updates.
Combat, on the other hand, is where the game shines. It’s tactical and gives you options—go in guns blazing or think through your moves. I loved crafting strategies, but bugs got in the way sometimes. Characters would get stuck behind doors or objects, and the spacebar, which ends your turn, didn’t always work. It’s annoying but manageable if you save often.
The game’s visuals are pretty decent with some drawbacks… The city looks beautiful from a distance, but when you get up close, character models feel outdated, and animations are rough. Performance issues were also hard to ignore. Entering a new area took forever to load, and there were times when I thought the game might crash. I just hope they fix these problems because the world they’ve built is worth seeing in its best form.
For fans of CRPGs, New Arc Line offers something fresh. It blends magic and tech in a way that feels new. It reminded me of Dragon Age: Origins and Pathfinder with its tough choices and party-based gameplay, but with a cool steampunk twist. If you’re okay with some bugs and Early Access roughness, you’ll find a lot to enjoy.
New Arc Line: Would I recommend it? Yes, but with a warning. It’s fun and has tons of potential, but it’s not polished yet. If you’re willing to wait for updates and enjoy games that let you shape your story, give it a try. – Tom Henry
Pros:
- Interesting story with real choices
- Fun mix of humor and serious moments
- Tactical combat that feels rewarding
Cons:
- Companions feel underdeveloped
- Plenty of bugs and glitches
- Visuals could use more polish
Despite its flaws, New Arc Line hooked me. I’m curious to see how it evolves, and I’ll be sticking around for future updates. If you can handle the rough edges, I think you’ll enjoy it too.
