Dungeons of Sundaria: Review

Imagine a world where you get to fight monsters, collect shiny treasure, and go on big adventures with your friends. That’s what I found in the world of Dungeons of Sundaria!

My First Impressions

Starting out, I was pretty excited to see what this game had to offer. I had just got the game, still fresh in its box, and it felt like I had a ticket to a fun new world. The first thing I noticed was how the game didn’t try to confuse me with a lot of rules or fancy words. It was like walking into a park and knowing right away where the fun rides were.

Getting the Gang Together

One of the best things is that you can play this game with friends. I remember setting up my first party – it was pretty easy. A couple of clicks and my buddies joined in. We did run into a small hiccup where my friend lost his dungeon goodies after a game, which was almost a deal-breaker. Luckily, we found out from the game’s helpers that if you go back to town before closing the game, you can avoid the trouble. That’s a good fix, but I hope they make it so that this doesn’t happen at all in the future.

What Makes it Glow

The game has a way of making you feel smart and powerful, even if you’re not usually the gaming type. It doesn’t throw a lot of complicated stuff at you, and the little details make you want to play more. The graphics are not the best I’ve seen, but they get the job done and have their own charm. And the good thing is, you don’t need a super new computer to play it.

One thing I think they could do better is to help new folks understand some of the deeper stuff like making things or selling stuff you don’t need. But I have to hand it to them, for the price of the game, it’s a really good deal, especially since I got it on sale.

Diving Deeper

The game feels good to play. Swinging swords and casting spells all feel right after you get used to where to stand and when to move. I had fun figuring out how to beat the big skeletons and other scary creatures, which can be tough but not impossible.

The music and sounds also add a lot to the game. It’s important to feel like you’re really there, and the game does that well. I ran into a small issue where my mouse cursor would get lost for a brief moment, but it wasn’t too bad.

This game used to be called something else. The creators reworked it and renamed it, and it feels better now. It doesn’t feel empty like it used to, which reminds you it’s not one of those games everyone knows about.

I was happy to find out they didn’t forget the people who liked it before and even got a new key for the updated game for free. Big thumbs up to the game makers for that!

Loads of Loot and Adventure

The game gives you plenty of shiny things and it feels great. I’ve played as a wizard and a warrior, both alone, and each time I find something new, which keeps it exciting. Even though it can feel a bit rough around the edges, it’s still a fun ride and seems like there’s so much more to come if the game makers keep fixing and adding stuff.

What Needs Polishing

Though I had a good time, there are things that could be better. When you play as someone who shoots or throws magic, the monsters can sometimes move too fast and catch you, which feels a bit unfair. And the big bosses can knock you out with one big hit if you’re not careful, which could make some want to give up.

Playing with Friends

Playing with my friends is where it really shines. There’s so much happening at once; creatures to fight, items falling out of them, and trying not to laugh at your friend who might be hogging all the best gear. Sometimes you get so into it that you might ignore your friends and keep running into trouble – but that’s all part of the fun.

What to Look Out For

Now I should warn you, it’s not perfect. The picture on your screen might remind you of old computer games, and the maps can be a pain to figure out. Sometimes you might lose all your hard work because of a bug if you’re not careful. But the game makers have said they’re fixing things and that’s good news.

Is it Worth It?

To wrap things up, I think if you like to play fantasy games and don’t mind a little roughness around the edges, you’ll probably like Dungeons of Sundaria. It’s a cool place to go on adventures, especially with friends. There’s a charm to it that sticks with you, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it grows. Just remember to be patient with the little glitches, and who knows, maybe you’ll find your next fantasy home in Sundaria!
