Tennis Manager 2024: Review

I’m a moderate tennis fan. I like to watch big matches, finals and semi-finals of Grand Slams. I didn’t know what to think about Tennis Manager 2024, I have never played an earlier version. I really enjoy the Football Manager games, but what about tennis? Turns out it’s really good.

First things first, you get to be the boss. You’ll manage all aspects of your academy, from training your players to handling the finances. There are tons of tournaments to choose from, from junior leagues all the way to the big leagues. You’ll also have a huge pool of players to choose from, so finding the next big champion is all about scouting and smart choices.

The training system in TM24 is super detailed. You can focus on everything from a player’s physical fitness to their mental toughness. Think you can just make them practice hitting balls all day? Nope! You gotta make sure they’re in top shape, both physically and mentally, to win big matches.

Being a manager isn’t always sunshine and trophies. You gotta make smart choices with your money, negotiate contracts with your players, and even deal with injuries. It’s all about keeping your academy running smoothly and your players happy and healthy.

This year’s version has some new features. From what I have read these include:

4 Training edition
  • Custom Tournaments: This is a big one! You can now design your own dream tournaments, letting you recreate historic matches, pit legends from different eras against each other, or even create your own fantasy matchups.Redesigned
  • Training System: The training system gets a big overhaul this year. You can now focus on a player’s “form” in addition to their physical and mental skills. This adds a new layer of strategy to developing your players.Advanced
  • Injury System: Injuries are a real part of tennis, and TM24 now simulates them in a more realistic way. You’ll need to manage training intensity, match scheduling, and recovery times to keep your players healthy and prevent injuries from derailing their careers.
  • Updated Player and Tournament Databases: The game features the latest player and tournament info for 2024, including updated categories and point distributions for both men’s and women’s tours. You can also find and develop rising stars from the 2009 generation.
  • Enhanced Match Simulation: The way matches play out has been improved, with a focus on smarter net play, better lobs and serves, and overall more realistic decision-making by the AI players.Improved
  • 3D Analysis Tools: The 3D analysis tools get an upgrade, allowing you to dissect your player’s performance in even more detail. This can help you make better strategic decisions for future matches.

If you’re a new player looking for a deep and rewarding tennis management experience, then TM24 is a great choice. It’s got everything you need to build your dream academy and train the next generation of tennis stars. However, if you already own the previous version, the changes might not be enough to warrant a whole new purchase. It’s still a good game, but the updates are more like tweaks than a complete overhaul.

Overall, Tennis Manager 2024 is a really solid game with a lot to offer and I was surprised how much I liked it. It’s got great depth, fun features like the custom tournaments, and a whole lot of tennis action.
