Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel is a visually impressive Norse-themed horde survival game that really stands out. The demo showed off some beautiful effects, adding to the intense mythological vibe. The graphics and character designs look great, making battles feel powerful and engaging.
Gameplay itself is smooth, with responsive movement and abilities that feel good to use. You can choose from three classes in the demo: Barbarian, Seeress, and Revenant. Each has a unique playstyle, though their abilities feel a bit limited. Hopefully, more abilities will be added after launch to keep things interesting, as games like this benefit a lot from having variety in character builds.
One of the best parts of Hordes of Hel is the god blessings system. Players can earn passive skills from gods like Thor, Loki, and Freya, each offering different boosts or abilities. Loki, for example, boosts gold collection but sometimes strengthens enemies instead. This blessing system gives you options to change up your strategy each time you play, making each run feel different. You can also upgrade characters in unique ways as you progress, allowing for more flexibility in how you play each one.
I really enjoyed the game, I am looking forward to the full release of Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel.
